Company
Since 1952, tradition has taken shape in knitwear.
Essepi is an artisan knitwear manufacturer founded in Tuscany in 1952, with over 70 years of experience in high-quality knitwear.
A family-run business for three generations, we combine tradition and innovation in the creation of knitwear for men and women, with sartorial attention to every detail.
Over time, we have built a solid and recognised identity based on quality, reliability, stylistic research and production flexibility. We work on gauges ranging from the thickest to the thinnest, specialising in 14 and 12 gauge, offering tailor-made solutions designed to meet the diverse needs of the market.
The search for new knitting stitches and the design of customised prototypes takes place in the heart of Tuscany.
Production is carried out internally or through selected and certified partners in Italy, guaranteeing authentic Made in Italy quality. Long-standing partnerships in Tunisia, always under the direct control of the company, complete the production network, ensuring speed, traceability and high quality standards.
We use only the highest quality Italian yarns – wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, silk and cotton – and operate with care for the environment, thanks to the use of certified and eco-sustainable yarns.
Quality control
Constant supervision throughout the entire supply chain
At Essepi, quality control is a guiding principle that accompanies every stage of the production process. A highly specialised in-house team carefully monitors every step of the process: from sample development to final production, both in Italy and Tunisia, to ensure consistency, precision and compliance with customer requirements.
We check the consistency between prototypes and production, verifying stitching, finishes, measurements and yarn performance to ensure that every item meets our standards. Thanks to a proven method and the experience of our staff, we can offer a reliable end product with attention to every detail.
archive
A heritage of inspiration
Over the years, we have built a historical archive of over a thousand garments, the result of research, experimentation and study. A valuable heritage that tells the story of our evolution and our style, and which we now make available to our customers as a source of inspiration and design for future collections.
Consulting the archive means accessing ideas, techniques, stitches and colour combinations that have already been tested and can be reinterpreted or developed in new directions. A tangible space where memory and creativity come together to give shape to new projects.
