Founded in 1952 in the heart of Tuscany, Essepi is a family-owned company with a long tradition in high-quality knitwear.
Specializing in lowered knitwear for men and women, it works on multiple finenesses-from 14 to 3, including seamless-with particular expertise in 14 and 12 gauge. The design combines craftsmanship with modern technology to offer garments that embody Italian excellence.

Yarn research, design and prototyping: the heart of our Stylistic Research
Brief with the client
We receive the customer’s request with all the specifications: design, target audience, materials, colors and quantities. We carefully analyze every detail to make the knitwear garment that reflects the customer’s vision.
Design and prototyping
We develop the first prototypes from the brief received. We propose yarns, processes and variations, making samples for the customer to evaluate and test.
Approval and planning
Once the samples are approved, we define the timelines together, optimize the production plan and organize procurement.
Production
We manage all production stages: weaving, making up, finishing, ironing and quality control. Each garment is made according to the standards required by the customer.
Custom Packaging
We apply customer labels and take care of packaging. We also provide customized packaging upon request
Shipping
We arrange worldwide shipping of finished garments, ready to be distributed or put on the market directly in stores.
Quality and Controlled Supply Chain
Essepi operates with a flexible and controlled production chain: production can take place in-house or at selected Italian partners who are rigorously audited, guaranteeing authentic Made in Italy. The company also has well-established partnerships in Tunisia, long-standing partners of more than 20 years, with Essepi’s constant and direct quality control. This approach ensures fast turnaround times, complete traceability of processes and excellent quality standards.
Through a direct dialogue with the best Italian spinning mills, we have a wide range of yarns in wool, cotton, cashmere, recycled and certified fibers. Our designs are distinguished by clean, essential lines: versatile garments designed to be worn in every season and context.
